Williams to team with Gallagher Motorsports for Ansell ActivArmr 150 at Chicagoland
(MOORESVILLE, N.C. – July 17, 2013) – Josh Williams will pilot the No. 02 Allegiant Travel Ford Fusion this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway, representing a new partnership between his family-owned team and Gallagher Motorsports. “I am really looking forward to hitting the banks of Chicagoland (Speedway) and really showcasing the No. 02 Allegiant Travel Ford Fusion this weekend,” said ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards driver Williams.

The Ansell ActivArmr 150 at Chicagoland Speedway is at 5 p.m. CT. The race is live on SPEED.

Williams, from Port Charlotte, Fla., enters the race sixth in the driver point standings. He ran most of the season in his family-owned Josh Williams Motorsports Ford but ran at Elko Speedway for the Roulo Brothers, at Road America for Kimmel Racing and for Gallagher Motorsports at Winchester Speedway. He has four top-10s and two sixth-place finishes to his credit this season.

Subbing for an injured Spencer Gallagher at Winchester Speedway, Williams clicked with the Gallagher Motorsports crew. Having made a full recovery and returning to the seat of the No. 23 this weekend, Gallagher and the crew reached out to Williams shortly after the race with the possibility of a new partnership.

Continuing to use his own Ford Fusions, Williams brought his cars to the Mooresville, N.C., shop early last week and will run under the Gallagher Motorsports banner. Chassis No. 242, a Roush Fenway Racing custom built car, will be Williams’ hotrod at the 1.5-mile paved tri-oval on Sunday. He last ran the car at Michigan International Speedway, where he battled to a top-10 finish after starting 14th.

In connection with the team’s partnership, Allegiant Travel will also dawn their likeness over the No. 02 in a one-race sponsorship. Gallagher and Williams will both sport the custom Allegiant Travel design, along with the iconic swooping plane down the side.

“I am truly thankful for all of the opportunities Gallagher Motorsports and Allegiant Travel have given me,” Williams said. “I was honored to get the call a few weeks back to fill in for Spencer (Gallagher) and to now have this new partnership in place is amazing.”

The Ansell ActivArmr 150 will follow the same-day NASCAR Nationwide Series STP 300 on Sunday, July 21 at 5:00 p.m. local central time, live on SPEED. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell will accompany raceday activities at noon. Practice for the Ansell ActivArmr 150 will take place on Saturday from 4:10 through 6.

ARCAracing.com will also feature live timing and scoring of all ARCA Racing Series on-track activity.
