(SALEM, Ind. – Sept. 14, 2013) – Will Kimmel turned only 29
laps in the opening practice session in his No. 69 Eddie Gilstrap Motorsports
Ford, but he led all drivers in speeds for the session.
Kimmel held onto the top practice lap for most of the session.
Mason Mingus, in the No. 32 811 Call Before You Dig Toyota was the only other
driver to top the 114 mph plateau. Mason Mitchell in the No. 82 Happy Cheeks
Ford was third, Justin Boston in the ZLOOP Computer & Recycling Toyotal
fourth and Ken Schrader in the Federated Auto Parts Chevrolet fifth.
Will Kimmel finished a career-best second at Salem Speedway
Tom Hessert, in the No. 77 Barbera’s Autoland Dodge, won the
fall, 2012, ARCA Racing Series event as
well as the race at the track earlier this year.
Twenty-six of the 30 cars entered took at least one practice
The final practice session is scheduled for 1:45 to 2:30
p.m. with Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell at 4 p.m. and racing at 7
p.m. on half-mile track at The Salem Speedway Fueled by the Hoosier Lottery.
