"I appreciate the support Ansell and Menards have given me, and I'll be forever indebted to Duke Thorson and all the guys at ThorSport for helping me achieve the goals we set for ourselves," said Kimmel. "At the same time, I can't wait to get behind the wheel of those Toyotas at Win-Tron Racing. Kevin Cywinski and Nate Thiesse have a great reputation in the ARCA Garage and that's well deserved. I feel like we have a shot to win every week in 2014."
Win Tron Racing has clearly established itself as a premier ARCA Racing Series team since its debut in 2004, winning 13 races and 11 pole qualifying awards. The team has fielded cars for ARCA Rookies of the Year Joey Miller (2005) and Blake Bjorkland (2006). The Win-Tron driver roster in the series also includes 2013 championship points runner-up Mason Mingus, Michael Annett, Brandon McReynolds and James Buescher, Justin Marks and Matt Merrell, all who recorded their first career ARCA win with Win-Tron. Notably, the Win-Tron team has ARCA Racing Series victories at 10 different tracks including Daytona and Talladega, won the Bill France Four Crown award and has been honored with the ARCA Sportsmanship Award.
"Frank Kimmel has been a great spokesperson for Ansell and for Menards," said Jeff Abbott, Promotions Manager for Menards. "The 2014 season will be a celebration of the milestones Frank has achieved over his career, and especially since the 2009 season when Ansell and Menards have been on board. Frank represents Ansell and Menards extremely well, and while we're proud of our accomplishments to date, don't count us out to win more races and contend for another championship."
Kimmel began his ARCA Racing Series career in 1990 and is the all-time series leader in victories and championships. He also has 261 Top-five and 353 Top-10 finishes in 469 starts, has 42 pole qualifying awards and has led more than 11,000 laps in 213 races. He has finished in the top-10 in series points every season from 1992-2013, a streak of 22 seasons.
"We have raced against Frank Kimmel for the past 10 years, and based on that we couldn't be more pleased to welcome him to the team," said Win-Tron team co-owner Nate Thiesse. "Kevin Cywinski and I look forward to the challenge of adding to Frank's impressive performance record in the series."
