(TOLEDO, Ohio – April 17, 2014) – Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) has filed an entry for the April 27 Federated Auto Parts 200 presented by Crunch ‘N Nutter at Salem Speedway with 17-year-old Brandon Jones listed as the driver of the No. 33 TSM Chevrolet. The event will mark the rookie's debut in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.
Jones is already running the full NASCAR K&N East Series schedule in 2014 and a handful of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events. In the quest for more seat-time, TSM is also adding the ARCA Racing Series to Jones’ busy 2014 race schedule.
Jones competed in PASS, UARA, K&N East and made his Camping World Truck Series debut in 2013, the same year in joined the TSM organization. In all tours combined, he earned three top-five finishes and eight top-10s in ‘13, two of which were in the K&N East tour.
Jones also won a UARA late model race at Concord (N.C.) Speedway in 2012. Prior to 2012, Jones earned track championships at Lanier Nat’l Speedway and Gresham Motorsports Park in 2011.
Jones, from Atlanta, Georgia, experienced his first season in racing in 2010 under the supervision of late model legend Bubba Gale and his son Cale Gale. A veteran/winner in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Cale also won the inaugural ARCA Mobile 200 at Mobile Int’l Speedway in 2012.
The Federated Auto Parts 200 presented by Crunch ’N Nutter, the 95th ARCA race at Salem since 1955, is scheduled to get the green flag Sunday afternoon, April 27 just after 2:00 p.m. local time. Two practice sessions precede Sunday’s race activity on Saturday, April 26 at 12 noon and at 1:15. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell rolls off at 3:30 Saturday.
