(MILLVILLE, N.J. - May 22, 2011) - Three female drivers are among the 35 starting today's ModSpace 150 at New Jersey Motorsports Park, and Jason Mazda of The Press of Atlantic City checked in with all three of them for a story published today.
Maryeve Dufault (left) and Milka Duno (right) - both full-time drivers in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards - are joined on the 2.25-mile Thunderbolt Raceway this weekend by New Jersey's Robin Bonanno, a 48-year-old Sports Club Car of America champion.
Mazda spoke to each driver, discussing the issues surrounding female inclusion in a sport traditionally dominated by males.
(Bonanno) will make her ARCA debut today starting in 30th place, alongside fellow rookie Maryeve Dufault (21st) and former IndyCar driver Milka Duno (27th)...That group is part of an influx of women into a sport so testosterone-driven that NASCAR recently described its policy on altercations as, "Boys, have at it."
