(CONCORD, N.C. - July 11, 2012) - For Zach Ralston, there's no question that Friday's Prairie Meadows 200 is better than being in Iowa.
"No, it's heaven!" the driver of the No. 90 ORingSales.com Chevrolet said.
Ralston, who will be making his fourth career ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards start, will race 110 miles from his hometown of Springville. For him, just going to the 0.875-mile race track is a thrill. Winning there would definitely be a dream come true.
"I started racing in go-karts at the local short track in Newton," Ralston said. "When they built Iowa Speedway, that became my home track. So any time I can go home, it's special. It motivates me to push myself a little harder. From the moment we put this race on our limited schedule, I've considered it the highlight of the entire season."
Ralston has finished on the lead lap of both of his two previous starts with Stringer Motorsports. His other start came with Roulo Brothers Racing.
"This is a big week for our race team," Ralston said. "We will have a lot of O-Ring Sales and Service representatives at a track suite, so we hope to put on a good show for them."
The first of two practice sessions will start at 11:30 a.m. ET on Friday. The final practice will be at 2 p.m. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell will be at 5:30 p.m., and the main event is scheduled for a 9 p.m. green flag. The race will be televised live on SPEED, and ARCARacing.com will feature live timing and scoring coverage of all on-track activity.
