New Scheme, Oval Return Await Larry Barford Jr.

barfordiowascheme12.jpg(NEWTON, Iowa - July 12, 2012) - Larry Barford Jr. will come to Friday's Prairie Meadows 200 with more than just 11th place in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards championship standings.

The Maryland driver will bring a new chassis, motor, and paint scheme to the No. 04 1st Mariner Mortgage/VAMortgage.com/Trauma Doc/Madison Settlement Services Dodge Charger for his first visit to the Rusty Wallace-designed Iowa Speedway.

"I am really excited to be coming to Iowa," he said. "I have heard what a great track it is and how much fun it is to race there, and after heading to Mooresville this past week to work on the car, I can't wait to get it out on the track. New Jersey was a learning experience, but I have to say I really prefer the ovals to a road course.

"I worked with Nick Tucker and the C2M crew on the car, and it is going to be fast. I feel like we will have a car that is pretty well dialed in right off the hauler."

All on-track activity for the Prairie Meadows 200 will take place tomorrow. Two practices are scheduled, from 10:30-noon and 1-2. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell will begin at 4:30. SPEED will broadcast the race live at 8, and ARCARacing.com will carry live timing and scoring of all on-track activity. All times are Central.
