(NEWTON, Iowa - July 13, 2012) - Clay Rogers, who will make just his second ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards start of 2012 today, turned the fastest lap late in the opening practice at Iowa Speedway.
Rogers (No. 45 Beard Oil Chevrolet) turned a lap on the 0.875-mile oval in just 23.813 seconds (132.281 mph) late in the session to top points leader Brennan Poole, who led for most of the morning.
Rogers finished seventh at Toledo in May.
Frank Kimmel, Michael Simko, and Chad Hackenbracht filled out the top five, with Jared Marks, Matt Lofton, Alex Bowman, Spencer Gallagher, and Erik Jones comprising the rest of the top 10.
