(MARNE, Mich. - August 11, 2012) - Ten drivers have won races this season in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, and several have designs on becoming the 11th tonight at Berlin Raceway.
Of 29 drivers entered for tonight's Berlin ARCA 200 presented by Hantz Group, 24 are on the lookout for their first win this season. Out of those drivers, seven have finished in the top five in at least one event this year: Chase Elliott, Tom Hessert, Erik Jones, Will Kimmel, Clint King, Matt Lofton, and Mason Mitchell.
That's not to mention top-10 competitors Nelson Canache and Spencer Gallagher, Berlin veteran Brian Campbell, or two-time Berlin winner Brian Keselowski, each of whom could make a bid for Victory Lane tonight.
They'll all hit the track for two practices this afternoon, scheduled for 2 and 3:15. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell will follow at 5 p.m., and the 200-lap, 87.5-mile race will start at 8:30 p.m.
ARCARacing.com will carry live timing and scoring coverage for all on-track activity today, and hosts Charlie Krall and Tim Clagg of the ARCA Racing Network will deliver a live online audio call of tonight's race on the site.
Chevrolets make up nearly half the entry list; 14 are entered. That group includes points leader Brennan Poole and last week's winner, Chad Hackenbracht.
That leads seven Fords, the top of which is driven by Chris Buescher, currently second in points. Five Dodges are entered, including one for Alex Bowman, who is fourth in points. Bowman is one position behind Frank Kimmel, who will drive one of three Toyotas today.
Four Michigan drivers are entered in their home state. Jones (Byron), Keselowski (Rochester Hills), and Campbell (Wyoming) are three of them, with Michael Simko of Clarkston also in the field.
Outside of Keselowski, one other Berlin winner is entered: Kimmel, who has three victories at the track.
