(TOLEDO, Ohio - September 11, 2012) - Three drivers with Victory Lane experience at Salem Speedway and a new competitor in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards headline the latest episode of "Inside ARCA."
The show will open with two-time Salem winner Bob Strait, who this week plans to make his first ARCA Racing Series start since 2008 in a Bowsher Motorsports Ford. Strait has 16 wins in the ARCA Racing Series.
Later, spring Salem winner Alex Bowman will talk about his jump to the NASCAR Nationwide Series with Turner Motorsports. Bowman will make his debut with Turner Saturday at Chicagoland Speedway before flying south to Salem Speedway to continue his run at the ARCA Racing Series championship and the Team Messina Rookie Challenge.
Filling in for Bowman through practice and qualifying will be Dakoda Armstrong, an ARCA winner at Salem in 2010. His cousin, Caleb Armstrong, plans to make his ARCA debut for Venturini Motorsports on Saturday; Caleb will also make his "Inside ARCA" debut on tonight's show.
Frank Kimmel II, son of nine-time ARCA champion and nine-time Salem winner Frank Kimmel, will bid for another top-10 run at Salem after finishing seventh last season, and he certainly hopes for more than that. At one point late in last fall's Salem race, each of the top three spots in the running order were filled by Kimmels - Frank II, Frank, and Will Kimmel. Kimmel II has won in numerous disciplines at the track, and he will line up for Team BCR Racing in Saturday's event.
Salem Speedway general manager Richard Deaton will discuss the track's preparation for the 92nd ARCA race on the high-banked, half-mile oval.
