(KANSAS CITY, Kan. - October 18, 2012) - The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will close its 60th Anniversary Season tomorrow at Kansas Speedway, and drivers from the series will be making appearances around town tonight to meet fans before the race.
Nine-time ARCA champion and current championship contender Frank Kimmel will appear at the Menards store in St. Joseph, Mo. from 6-7:30 p.m.
While there, the driver of the No. 44 Ansell/Menards Toyota for ThorSport Racing will meet and greet fans, sign autographs, and pose for pictures next to his No. 44 show car. Guests who purchase a pair of Ansell gloves inside the store will receive a voucher for a free second pair of gloves, presented by Kimmel outside the store.
The store is located at 4320 Commonwealth Drive, just off I-29 at Exit 44.
Also tonight, over a dozen drivers are scheduled to appear at an autograph session in front of the Cabela's store near Kansas Speedway. The session will begin at 6 p.m. and last for one hour. Cabela's is located on Cabela Dr., just off the Kansas Speedway backstretch and near the intersection of Interstates 70 and 435.
Both events are open to the public and free of charge.
Championship leaders Chris Buescher and Kimmel top the list of headliners at the track, while fellow title hopefuls Brennan Poole and Alex Bowman will battle for ARCA's prestigious Team Messina Rookie Challenge honors. Bowman is the defending Kansas winner after driving to victory in just his second career ARCA start last fall.
Practice for the Kansas Lottery 98.9 will take place from 9-11:15 a.m. Friday, with Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell following at 5:35 p.m. The 99-lap, 148.5-mile Kansas Lottery 98.9 will start at 7:30 p.m. All listed times are Central.
