(KANSAS CITY, Kan. - October 19, 2012) - Will Kimmel led the day's lone ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards practice at Kansas Speedway, making his first step for a successful season finale.
Kimmel, driving his family's own No. 68 Mallory Ignition Ford, finished his best lap in 29.462 seconds (183.287 mph). He topped Brennan Poole, Brennan Newberry, Alex Bowman, and Frank Kimmel. Poole, Bowman, and Frank Kimmel all remain eligible for the ARCA Racing Series title; Kimmel is closest to points leader Chris Buescher, just 85 points behind.
Buescher finished the practice session 15th of 39 drivers. The top 21 drivers on the practice chart drove faster laps than Ken Butler III's track qualifying record holder from 2008.
