Swindell Parlays ARCA Success into Opportunity

swindellkevinpocono12.jpg(CONCORD, N.C. - October 25, 2012) - Coming off an impressive season driving for Venturini Motorsports, standout driver Kevin Swindell has teamed up with NASCAR team Biagi-DenBeste Racing and will compete next month in the NASCAR Nationwide Series events at Texas Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway, driving the No. 98 entry.

Swindell, who scored his first ARCA victory earlier this year at Chicagoland Speedway, most recently finished the season with an impressive runner-up finish at Kansas Speedway while driving the No. 55 Venturini Motorsports/Curb Records Toyota.

Swindell, who is no stranger to the "main stage," is poised and ready to showcase his talent at the next level.

The three-time Chili Bowl Midget Nationals sprint car champion has previously competed in four Nationwide races, with a best start of fifth at Dover International Speedway in 2011. This season, Swindell made eight starts in the ARCA Racing Series, securing seven top-five starts along with four top-five finishes. The young driver scored his first stock car win at Chicagoland Speedway in July after earning the pole and leading every lap.

"I can't wait to get back behind the wheel of a Nationwide car," Swindell said. "We put a lot of effort into our ARCA program this year with Venturini Motorsports and our success paid off, giving me this great opportunity with the Biagi-DenBeste team.  They've (Biagi-DenBeste) done really well and had strong finishes in each race they have entered. I am excited to team up with them for Texas and Homestead."

After taking a hiatus from racing, Biagi-DenBeste Racing has returned to the Nationwide Series to compete in five races this season. The team earned a best starting spot of 11th at Atlanta Motor Speedway and a season-best finish of 12th earlier this month at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

"We are really pleased to have Kevin in the car," said team co-owner Fred Biagi. "Right now we are only interested in running races that we can do right and this will be a great baseline for 2013. We know Kevin can get it done. With his talent and the Swindells' storied history in racing, we are expecting great things out of him."

Swindell will first take to the track for Biagi-DenBeste Racing at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, November 2 for practice. Live coverage of Saturday night's O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge will begin at 7 p.m. on ESPN. The race can also be heard on PRN.
