(TOLEDO, Ohio - October 26, 2012) - The Automobile Racing Club of America and the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards are continuing to accept student applications for the University of Northwestern Ohio Scholarship Fund.

Located in Lima, the University of Northwestern Ohio is the official and exclusive educational university of the ARCA Racing Series. The annual scholarship fund of $10,000 will be distributed to a qualified individual or split between a group of recipients, at the university's discretion. 

The scholarship money will be presented Saturday, December 8, at the ARCA Racing Series Championship Awards Banquet at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis.

The University of Northwestern Ohio's ARCA Race Club program offers students at-track internship opportunities with race teams and the sanctioning body. Several UNOH students served as technical officials over the course of the ARCA Racing Series schedule in 2012, and as many as 40 students worked on ARCA race teams this season.

In addition to the annual scholarship and marketing partnership with ARCA, UNOH is a participating sponsor of the ARCA Safety Initiative. 

To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be an ARCA Member or an immediate family member 25 years or younger. Applicants must also possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. The Applicant must send, in writing, their name (along with the name of an immediate family member who is an ARCA Member if the Applicant is not an ARCA Member), address, phone number, and a brief essay of approximately one page describing why the Applicant is deserving of scholarship consideration.
