(MILLERSPORT, Ohio - October 27, 2012) - Voting in the second year for the Most Popular Driver Award in the ARCA Truck Series is nearing its end, with ballots having been cast for more drivers this year than in 2011.
Seven drivers are currently on the board and in the running for the coveted award, sponsored by Door 2 Door Delivery of Troy, Mich. The award is determined solely by the fans by way of ballots available inside the 2011 ARCA Truck Series yearbook and 2012 Media Guide.
Shawn Szep, last year's Rookie of the Year, has led the vote for most of the year at 37 percent. The other six drivers maintain equal footing relative to one another, but well behind Szep as time runs out. The other entrants are series champion Levi Mansfield, Bob Mikolajczak, Brad Yunker, Danny Jackson, Cody Quarrick, and last year's winner, Chris Bailey Jr.
Votes will be accepted in envelopes postmarked no later than October 28. The Most Popular Driver Award will be presented at the series banquet in Toledo, Ohio on November 10.

The ARCA Truck Series completed its third full season presented by the Phoenix Management Group of Ohio, LLC, (or PMG) of Millersport, Ohio in 2012 under a licensing agreement with the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA). The ARCA Truck Series ran its first full season under ARCA's direction in 1999 after evolving from the Pro-4 Series, which was sanctioned by ARCA for the previous nine years. Today, the series has grown into one of the most versatile series in short track racing, having taken popular 4-cylinder, V-6, and Ford V-8 crate powered trucks to asphalt tracks of many sizes under one mile, road courses, and numerous dirt tracks in its history.
