(TOLEDO, Ohio - October 29, 2012) - Drivers with experience in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards filled 18 of the top 20 positions in Saturday's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race and 11 of the top 20 in Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Martinsville Speedway.
In Saturday's race, past ARCA competitor Denny Hamlin edged Nelson Piquet Jr. and Joey Coulter for the win. Those three led a top-10 full of past ARCA drivers, including nine-time race winner and 2009 championship runner-up Parker Kligerman, who was ninth.
Other drivers in Saturday's top 10 included Matt Crafton (fourth), Scott Riggs (fifth), James Buescher (sixth), Timothy Peters (seventh), Ryan Blaney (eighth), and Brian Scott (10th).
Following those drivers were Max Gresham, Kevin Harvick, Johnny Sauter, Miguel Paludo, Josh Richards, John Wes Townley, Justin Lofton, Peyton Sellers. Of the top 20, only the 13th and 16th positions were filled by drivers with no ARCA experience.
Recent competitors Tim George Jr. (27th), Ty Dillon (28th), Matt Merrell (34th), and Cale Gale (35th) also drove Saturday.
Kyle Busch finished second to lead a group of five past ARCA drivers in the top six in Sunday's Sprint Cup event. Kasey Kahne, Aric Almirola, Clint Bowyer, and Brad Keselowski followed Busch.
Ryan Newman was 11th over Paul Menard (12th), Sam Hornish Jr. (13th), Joey Logano (16th), Landon Cassill (19th), and Juan Pablo Montoya (20th).
