Belmont Endures Test of Time; Still Standing

belmontcandid09.jpgTOLEDO OH (3-25/26-09) - There aren't too many roads that Andy Belmont hasn't traveled. From driver to crew chief; from sponsor go-getter to car owner to team manager - and sometimes all the aforementioned roles at the same time - the Pennsylvania born and bred racer has seen much of what the motorsports world has to offer, and in some cases, take away.

In addition to making 184 career ARCA RE/MAX Series starts as a driver, there is one role that Belmont hasn't quite been able to distance himself from. Either by choice or necessity, Belmont, along with his wife Jennifer, have been car owners/team managers in this series dating back to his first appearance on tour in 1994.

Whether he was behind the wheel or not, driver Belmont was driving for owner Belmont.

These days, Belmont has opted out of the driver chair and has focused solely on the business of running the race team - Andy Belmont Racing (ABR), which includes car owner/wife Jennifer Belmont. The Belmont husband/wife duo currently fields cars for Cherry Hill, New Jersey driver Tom Hessert. hessertcarshotdaytona09.jpgTogether, they finished 8th in ARCA RE/MAX Series championship points in 2008. Hessert has re-signed with ABR for another full season in the ARCA RE/MAX Series in 2009. However, Belmont the driver and/or car owner/team manager is still searching for that elusive first win.

How are things currently working out for the out-spoken and sometimes controversial racer since he climbed out of the cockpit three years ago?

We'll find out Thursday on '30 at 30' at 3:30 PM ET when Belmont is scheduled to be the featured guest.

'30 at 30', an online talk show on the ARCA Racing Network at Arcaracing.com, will air daily at 3:30 PM ET through Tuesday, March 31st.
