DAWSONVILLE, Ga. (October 7, 2009) - Seventeen-year-old Casey Roderick will make his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut in the October 10th American 200 at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway, which will air same-day on SPEED at 10 p.m. The Lawrenceville, Ga., native, who drives a Late Model for Bill Elliott Racing (BER), will pilot the No. 51 Dodge in a joint venture between BER and James Finch's Phoenix Racing.
"I'm really looking forward to this weekend; it's probably the biggest of my career," said Roderick. "We tested there two weeks ago and were fifth overall. We were a little on the conservative side, and we're going to go a little more aggressive on the setup for the race and hopefully get back on top and get a good run for Bill Elliott and for James Finch.
"This is my first ARCA race, and I don't really know what to expect," continued Roderick. "But I'm going to find out on Sunday. I've talked with Bill (Elliott) and with the James Finch guys, and they've preached to me that we have to go over there and run the best we can, but we want to come home with a clean car and no damage. That's my main goal - to have a good run and keep the car underneath me and not tear it up so we can hopefully run some more ARCA races next year."
"I am looking forward to the race Sunday," said Roderick's mentor, NASCAR champion Bill Elliott. "Casey has waited a long time for this opportunity, and I know he will make the best of it. I hope that a potential sponsor will be watching and ready to contact us to provide Casey an opportunity to race the full ARCA season in 2010. Casey is a talented young man that just needs a break to show what he can do".
In addition to support from Bill Elliott Racing and Phoenix Racing, Ernie Elliott, Inc. (EEI) is supplying the motor for the No. 51 Dodge at Rockingham. Elliott, who has provided engines for several of NASCAR's top teams, has built a refreshed motor for Roderick in Sunday's 200-lap race.
Roderick, who made his rise through the ranks of Legends Racing and into Late Model cars, joined Bill Elliott Racing in July of 2008. Since then, Roderick has made 22 Late Model starts, including two wins, 12 top-five and 17 top-ten finishes. For more information about Casey Roderick, please visit http://www.billelliott.com/.

About Bill Elliott Racing: In 2008, NASCAR legend Bill Elliott launched a Driver Development program as an extension of Bill Elliott Racing. Based on the principles of teamwork, strong work ethic and positive attitudes, the program aims to guide young drivers through the highs and lows of life in auto racing and to make them leaders on and off the track.
Drivers will climb through the ranks of asphalt racing, starting in the Legends Racing Series, and move up to Pro Late Model stock cars - including the Georgia Asphalt Series (GAS) and ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour and Late Model Series - and onto Super Late Models in series such as the Champion Racing Association (CRA) Super Series. From there they will progress to the ARCA RE/MAX and other series that are age and talent specific. To encourage strong communication and clear feedback, drivers will also intermittently run dirt Late Models that reinforce car control and a thorough understanding of the feel of the car.
