Happy Halloween Weekend Plans.......
halloween.jpgWhen it comes to high-speed stock car racing, it's all about going fast; however, ARCAracing.com would like to encourage everyone to slow down this Saturday night.

"Put it out", a common phrase from race control during race events, is the cue to take the race from green to yellow/caution. With all the little ghosts and goblins out on the streets on Halloween, it's a good idea to put out the caution lights and leave them out in an extra cautionary mode for the kids' big night of trick or treating.

To all, Happy Halloween........

Here's what some of the ARCA troops are up to on this very scary weekend.

Robb Brent's been spending most of his time in the off-season in school at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan. Brent, who graduates this February with a degree in Automotive Marketing & Management, is going to take a breather this weekend. "I've got three really good friends coming up for the weekend. We're going to the (Detroit) Pistons game tonight - it's their home opener. Tomorrow night, we'll find a place to hang out and have some fun."

Don Radebaugh: "I'm going with my two daughters to the local high school football game tonight. We all live in Sylvania, Ohio, which is a western suburb of Toledo. The two local high schools - Sylvania Northview and Sylvania Southview - are playing each other tonight at the stadium, which is right across the street from our house. We just walk right over. It's a big deal around here, and we're all quite excited about it. It's unseasonably warm here today (low 70s) so it should be quite nice, if it's not pouring rain. Tomorrow, Saturday, I'm going to work on my front porch, finish staining and varnishing the wood ceiling. The home was built in 1923, so there's a lot of woodwork to preserve. Tomorrow night, I'll probably watch some horror flicks on SyFy. Sunday will be more chores around the house - most likely raking leaves. That, and checking in with ARCAracing.com for some weekend updates. Gunna visit my mother in Temperance, Michigan sometime this weekend too. She's leaving for Florida for the winter soon, so I want to visit. She's also got some homemade hot sauce/salsa for me to last me through the winter months."

Happy Halloween from Alli Owens!!!

owenshalloween.jpgHalloween is one of my favorite holidays because me and brother now have an excuse to make fools out of ourselves and dress up crazy. We have a tradition to go to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. This year's theme is ‘Ripped' from the Silver Screen and it features multiple horror movies. We paint our faces up and join in on the fun of scaring people! My brother mostly ends up scaring me instead! Last year my brother wore my firesuit and I worn his football uniform, but this year we are going for scary not funny! To be honest I'm a big chicken and won't watch any scary movies, so this year I am taking my brother's word on the scare factor stuff and most likely will have my head in his shoulder walking through all the haunted houses! My mom probably thought I would out grow costumes and Trick or Treat festivities and trade them in on adult Halloween parties and dressing cute and sexy, but not me I'm out there with the kids dressed up all scary and goofy! I'll grow up one day, just not this year!

Halloween with the kids (aged 4 and 7) on Saturday. Up here in Ottawa Canada it is sometimes a snowy expedition out into an evening of trick or treating with ghosts and goblins. Great fun! Beyond that, I'll be in the gym both Saturday and Sunday, per usual. Plus I'll keep an eye on the action at Talladega all weekend long. But the most important thing I'm doing is painting a couple Canadian military helmets for an upcoming auction where the proceeds go to assist military families in need, particularly those who've lost a loved one in Afghanistan. God bless, Pierre Bourque

Mark Rette (Cometic Crew Chief of the Year): My weekend plans include helping former ARCA series driver Deborah Renshaw Parker get back into racing at Concord Motorsports Park this weekend in the UARA late model race. Other than that, I will be hanging around the house watching all the coverage of this weekend's race on Speed.

Steve Arpin and his wife Trina are going to the Renaissance Festival Saturday morning and handing out candy Saturday night to all the trick or treaters in Cornelius, North Carolina. Next week we will be at all the dirt late model races at Lowe's.

Derek Scott: Hopefully you'll find something better than my idea for Halloween to print. I'm going to sew a lampshade to a baseball cap, wear it, and go to The Bunker on Dorr Street's Halloween party, as a One Nightstand. Hope your Halloween is spooky in a good way. Regards to Ron and everyone at ARCA.

Andy Belmont's going racing in the NASA northeast at New Jersey Motorsports Park with driver Ralph "Big Daddy" Tomasso. Once racing has concluded, it'll be trick or treating in our hometown of Feasterville, Pennsylvania.

Between my son's racing, racing at the Rock and this past weekend at the NSC show in Orlando, I'm looking forward to being at home this weekend for the first time in over a month. I'll be doing some yard work, mowing, etc., catching up with some honey-do items as well. Since we live out in the country, we don't do anything for Halloween; however I might take off my clothes off and scare Donna!  LOL, Frank

Patrick Sheltra: "I'll be in Alabama hunting with Lauren (my fiancée) and my cousin and his girlfriend this weekend. I've been pretty busy since I returned from Texas on Tuesday night. I worked a couple days at the office; now I'm hoping to get a big buck this weekend. Next week it's back to business."

Joey Coulter is planning on competing at Concord Motorsports Park this Saturday in the UARA late model race.
