GREATER PHILADELPHIA, PA (2-14-10) - Leilani Münter is proud to announce that she has partnered Eco Academy as an associate sponsor on her race car for the 2010 ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards season. The Eco Academy is a green job training academy to help bring green collar job opportunities for Americans looking to join the green work force.
Eco Academy offers a two day course that leads to Home Efficiency Consultant Certification, allowing graduates to earn extra income by performing home energy audits and showing home owners how to make their homes more energy efficient.
"I'm thrilled about my partnership with Eco Academy," said Leilani, "With so many Americans out of work and looking for new opportunities to earn money, the Eco Academy offers an affordable beginning to a new career in the green economy. It can be a new beginning for so many people and I am proud to be helping spread that message with my race program."
The green job sector is one of the most rapidly expanding areas in the U.S. In the next 10 years the green industry is expected to experience an estimated $1.5 trillion or 25 percent growth. The catch is that many of these careers are brand new and as a result, training in the green field is needed to understand how to transform with the moving economy. In addition to employment, the green collar industry not only offers the chance to earn good money but also has the feel-good feature of helping people save money and helping protect America's environment.
The Eco Academy will be led by GREENandSAVE CEO Charlie Szoradi, one of America's top green experts and a green archictect who brings more than two decades of experience in high-performance 'green' home design. Since completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia and his Masters of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania, he has conducted 'Home Efficiency Checkups' across the country, including driver Leilani Münter's Charlotte, NC home. Now, he and the GREENandSAVE team are sharing their training and expertise with individuals looking for a new career and those who seek to earn additional income. Eco Academy helps create jobs and save homeowners money. The Eco Academy already has home energy consultants across the country.
"From job layoffs to increased utility bills during the winter months, our region is facing a challenging economic time," said Charile Szoradi, founder of the Eco Academy and CEO of GREENandSAVE. "We look forward to training individuals in a green collar career while helping more home owners save money and become more energy efficient."
Graduates of the Eco Academy will also get to participate in the racing fun - the first 400 people to sign up for Eco Academy will have their names appear on Leilani's race car during one of her 2010 ARCA races. The $500 course includes two days of instruction and class materials, hands-on experience, a business foundation overview, a comprehensive home efficiency consultant toolkit, and meals. Students are required to complete five home efficiency checkups and a written exam to earn a certificate of completion. Home industry and building trade professionals, real estate agents, licensed engineers, home owners, and anyone interested in starting a new career or supplementing their current income can become a certified Home Efficiency Consultant through the Eco Academy. Students are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent. An online version of the course is now available so students can earn their Home Efficiency Consultant Certification from the comfort of their own homes.
The cost of the continuing education and training at Eco Academy is tax deductible in most cases and in most states. Check with your accountant for the specific level of deduction. To enroll with or learn more about the Eco Academy, please visit www.EcoAcademy.com or call 610.628.1300.
