Daytona Countdown – 2: Two-time Daytona Winners

In the 55 previous runnings of the Lucas Oil 200 driven by General Tire at Daytona International Speedway, a total of 39 drivers have added their names to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards record book as winners on the track’s historic high banks.

One driver, Bobby Gerhart, has won a record eight times, while Iggy Katona won three times. Thirty drivers have won once, including recognizable names like Kyle Petty, Mike Wallace, and former series champions Austin Theriault and Nelson Stacy. Current NASCAR Cup Series drivers Kyle Busch and Ryan Newman and legends like Benny Parsons and Tim Richmond also took an ARCA win at Daytona.

Seven drivers have scored two ARCA wins at Daytona over the years.

Andy Hillenburg won in 1995 and 1997. Grant Enfinger won in 2014 and 2015. Both used Daytona wins to catapult them into ARCA championships, Hillenburg in 1995 and Enfinger in 2015.

Andy Hampton (1968 and 1972) is a two-time ARCA winner at Daytona, as is Ben Hess (1989 and 1991), Jeff Purvis (1993 and 1996), Jimmy Horton (1990 and 1992), and John Wes Townley (2013 and 2016), Hampton’s two wins are notable in that he’s the only driver to have won the event twice when it was a 300-miler.

The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will take the green flag in the Lucas Oil 200 driven by General Tire on Saturday, February 9 at 4:30 pm ET. The race will be televised live on FS1. ARCARacing.com will have live timing & scoring, live chat, and live track updates free for registered users.
