Current ARCA Menards Series short track ace Chandler Smith (No. 20 Smith General Contractors Toyota) will make four starts in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series in 2019 driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports.
Smith’s ARCA schedule commences in the next series event at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. He will drive for Venturini Motorsports in the majority of the Sioux Chief Short Track Challenge events, with races at Salem Speedway, Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville, Toledo Speedway, Madison International Speedway, Gateway Motorsports Park, Elko Speedway, Iowa Speedway, Pocono Raceway, Salem, and Lucas Oil Raceway also on his schedule. Smith will bypass the two dirt events at Springfield and DuQuoin, and instead compete at Pocono and Gateway, which allow drivers under 18 years of age to race.
Smith’s NGOTS schedule includes his debut at Iowa Speedway on June 15, the back half of the ARCA/Truck doubleheader at Gateway the following week, Bristol Motor Speedway on August 15, and ISM Raceway in Phoenix on November 8. He will also drive a KBM-prepared super late model in events at Winchester, Nashville, and Five Flags later in the season.
Smith and the rest of the ARCA Menards Series take to the half-mile Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida on Saturday, March 9. Practice starts at 1 pm ET/12 pm CT; General Tire Pole Qualifying is set for 4:30 pm ET/3:30 pm CT; and the ARCA Pensacola 200 is set to go green at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT and will be televised live on MAVTV.
