Three teams are testing at Salem Speedway this afternoon in advance of the April 14 Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200. Drivers Sam Mayer (No. 21 Chevrolet Accessories Chevrolet), Bret Holmes (No. 23 Holmes II Excavation/Southern States Bank Chevrolet), and Carson Hocevar (No. 28 Scott’s/Berger Chevrolet/KBR Development Chevrolet) are all making laps on the high-banked half-mile.
Mayer is driving for GMS Racing, while Holmes’s family-owned team and Hocevar’s KBR Development team both have technical alliances with GMS.
Other teams and drivers that are scheduled to test at Salem in the coming week include the Venturini Motorsports trio of defending race winner Christian Eckes (No. 15 JBL Audio Toyota), last September’s Salem winner Chandler Smith (No. 20 Craftsman/828 Logistics Toyota), and Pensacola winner Michael Self (No. 25 Sinclair Lubricants Toyota). Chad Bryant Racing is scheduled to test with Corey Heim (No. 22 Speedway Children’s Charities Ford) and Joe Graf, Jr. (No. 77 EatSleepRace Ford) as well.
Practice for the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 is set for 11 am ET on Saturday, April 13 with General Tire Pole Qualifying scheduled for 3 pm ET that afternoon. The green flag on round three of the 2019 ARCA Menards Series season will drop shortly after 2 pm ET on Sunday, April 14.
