Sheldon Creed, the 2018 ARCA Menards Series champion, had his likeness added to the ARCA Wall of Champions inside the International Motorsports Hall of Fame on Thursday. Driving for MDM Motorsports and owners Matthew Miller, Doug Fuller, and Mark McFarland, Creed won four races including the season finale at Kansas and won the championship by 520 points over second place Zane Smith.

Now a part of GMS Racing’s NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series program, Creed was on his way back from delivering some hardware to his grandfather in California and stopped at Talladega for the induction ceremony.

“We bought the car I won with at Michigan and drove it out to California to give to my grandfather,” Creed said. “I had planned on driving back this week anyhow when I got invited to come and be a part of this. The museum here is really cool. There’s a lot of great old cars here. What a great place.”

Creed reminisced about his championship season while taking a tour of the museum.

“We had a great year,” Creed said. “We won four races, four poles, and dominated the championship. It was a great season and it really prepared me for going on to the Truck Series and being competitive right away.”

In addition to racing in the Gander Trucks, Creed still races in the Stadium Super Truck Series when time allows. He recently won both ends of a same-day doubleheader at Texas Motor Speedway.

“It’s a lot of fun to race the off-road stuff, but I don’t know how many more times I’ll be able to do it this year,” he said. “The schedules don’t match up too well and we’re really trying to get focused on the Truck stuff.”

Creed was joined at the induction ceremony by ARCA president Ron Drager and former series champions Bill Venturini, Andy Hillenburg, and Chase Briscoe.

“It’s a real honor to have Sheldon join the other champions on the ARCA Wall of Champions,” Drager said. “Every one of our champions from 1953 through the present is represented. We look forward to seeing what Sheldon does as he advances his career into the NASCAR Gander Trucks and beyond.”
