TUCSON, Ariz. — Brittney Zamora’s bright orange car is hard to miss on the race track.
It’s also extremely quick at Tucson Speedway, as the Kennewick, Washington native and Sunoco Rookie of the Year Contender sped to a 15.113-second circuit around the 0.375-mile oval in preparation for the Port of Tucson Twin 100s.
The lap came on her 16th of 19 laps in the second 45-minute practice session. Zamora was also second quickest in the first practice session of the afternoon.

RESULTS:Â PRACTICE ONE | FINAL PRACTICE
Her Bill McAnally Racing teammate and winner of South Boston Twin No. 2 Derek Kraus posted the second-quickest overall speed (15.125) coming in the second session, with South Boston Twin No. 1 winner Tanner Gray (15.161) third quickest. Irwindale winner Trevor Huddleston (15.238) and Hailie Deegan (15.247) rounded out the top five overall speeds.
The top five also were faster than the track record of 88.328 mph (set by Butch Gilliland in 1996).
Jagger Jones, Dustin Ash, Travis Milburn, Todd Souza and Tucson native Matt Levin completed the top 10. Last year’s Tucson winner Kody Vanderwal posted the 14th fastest circuit (15.535) when both 45-minute sessions were complete.
Group qualifying for the Port of Tucson Twin 100s at Tucson Speedway is scheduled to go green at approximately 4.45 p.m.
