ROSEBURG, Ore. — He was fastest in practice and he backed up his speed with a blazing quick circuit in group qualifying.
Defending Douglas County winner and championship points leader Derek Kraus’ 14.999-second lap earned him his first pole of the 2019 season for Bill McAnally Racing, the sixth in his K&N Pro Series West career and the eighth in his overall K&N career.
“I think the biggest thing for the race is just going to be saving our tires for the end,” Kraus said. “I feel like there might be a few cautions at the end. We‘ll have to save our stuff, be there at the end and hopefully lead a bunch of laps like we did last year.”
