After seven consecutive weeks of racing and a welcomed weekend off, the ARCA Menards Series returns to action at the tight confines of Elko Speedway in the Menards 250 on Saturday, July 13.
Series championship leader Michael Self (No. 25 Sinclair Lubricants Toyota) heads to the series shortest track looking for his fourth win of the season and to build on a slim 30-point advantage over Bret Holmes (No. 23 Holmes II Excavation Chevrolet) in the series standings.
The race, carrying Menards entitlement sponsorship for the first time in its history, is the sixth round of the 2019 Sioux Chief Short Track Challenge, a championship-within-a-championship on tracks one mile in length and under. Sixteen-year-old Talking Rock, Georgia native Chandler Smith (No. 20 Craftsman/828 Logistics Toyota) leads the SCSTC standings heading into the Menards 250. Smith will be looking for his third win of the season after scoring wins in the last two short track races at Toledo and Madison. Smith has a 55-point lead over Huntersville, North Carolina’s Ty Gibbs (No. 18 Monster Energy/ORCA Coolers/Terrible Herbst/Advance Auto Parts Toyota), who himself is coming off a win in his last series appearance at WWT Raceway in suburban St. Louis. Gibbs is the grandson of legendary NFL Hall of Fame coach and soon-to-be NASCAR Hall of Fame team owner Joe Gibbs.

Practice at Elko Speedway is set for 2:15 pm ET/1:15 pm CT, General Tire Pole Qualifying is scheduled for 6:15 pm ET/5:15 pm CT, and the 250-lap feature event will go green shortly after 10 pm ET/9 pm CT.
