Notes & Quotes:—
-Mayer started eighth and worked his way up to fifth on lap 118 before the first caution of the race. He pitted for right-side tires.
-He pitted for four tires on lap 167 before many of the leaders, so after they pitted during the next caution he restarted second. He took the lead for several lap until another restart on lap 210. He fell back to fourth, but fought hard in the closing laps battling with the second and third-place drivers.
-Mayer finished the race in third place for his fifth top-five in six ARCA starts this season.
-Mayer’s next event will be at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on July 20 in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.
“We had pit strategy to get us up front toward the end of the race and we were able to hold on to it for a little while, but we’ve got a little bit more to figure out to get it so we can win. I think everyone at GMS Racing gave me a fast car, our Chevy Accessories Chevrolet was really fun to drive. I’m really excited for our next ARCA race at Salem in September and the K&N race at New Hampshire next weekend.”
