News and Notes: Allen Crowe 100 presented by Lucas Oil

On Sunday, Michael Self earned his seventh career ARCA Menards Series win. The win moves him into a five-way tie for 50th on the all-time series win list with Jim Cushman, Jack Shanklin, and former series champions Lee Raymond and Justin Lofton.

With four races remaining in the 2019 season, Self has the possibility to end the season with a career win total in double-digits, something that hasn’t been done since Parker Kligerman earned his tenth career series win at New Jersey Motorsports Park in May 2016.

The win was also Venturini Motorsports’ eleventh win of the 2019 season. Self, now with four wins, is tied for the season-long lead with Chandler Smith. Christian Eckes has two wins, and Harrison Burton has a single victory so far this season.

To put VMS’s season into perspective, team owner Bill Venturini won 12 times as a driver in his career. Big Bill is his organization’s winningest driver. Self, with his Springfield win, broke a tie for second-winningest VMS driver with Chandler Smith and Brennan Poole, each of whom won six times in VMS equipment.

A total of 24 drivers have won driving for Venturini Motorsports. Big Bill earned all 12 of his wins as a driver driving for his own team. Self is second with seven, Smith and Poole are tied for third with six apiece, Christian Eckes has five wins, Christopher Bell and Steve Arpin have three each, Justin Boston, Kevin Swindell, Alex Bowman, and Joey Logano each have two, and Tom Hessert III, Austin Theriault, Erik Jones, John Wes Townley, Mikey Kile, Sean Caisse, Scott Lagasse, Jr., Billy Venturini, Dalton Sargeant, Logan Seavey, Harrison Burton, and Todd Gilliland have one each.

The Allen Crowe 100 presented by Lucas Oil was the third round of the 2019 CGS Imaging 4 Crown Championship. The four-race series-within-the-series celebrates the diversity of the ARCA Menards Series and includes a race on each of the different types of tracks at which the series competes. The CGS Imaging 4 Crown kicked off at Talladega with Todd Gilliland scoring the win. Michael Self won the second race at Michigan and backed it up with the win on dirt at Springfield. The CGS Imaging 4 Crown conlcudes with the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers Fall Classic 200 at Salem Speedway on September 14.
