MADISON, Ill. — The momentum swinging Spencer Davis‘ way.
The Dawsonville, Georgia native was quickest in practice at Worldwide Technology Raceway at Gateway, in preparation for the Monaco Cocktails Gateway Classic 125 presented by the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame.
The Rette Jones Racing driver laid down a 32.759-second lap, coming on his 20th of 23 circuits in the session. He led a career-high 137 laps last week at Bristol before finishing fifth, and started on the pole last year at Gateway.

This season, Davis has four top fives and eight top 10 finishes in his first season behind the wheel of the No. 30.

K&N East championship points leader Sam Mayer (32.847), David Gilliland (32.884), Max McLaughlin (32.893) and Chase Cabre (32.991) completed the top five quickest speeds.
Quickest of the K&N West regulars was Evergreen winner Trevor Huddleston in sixth, with Tanner Gray, Hailie Deegan, defending Gateway dinner and K&N West points leader Derek Kraus and Brittney Zamora rounding out the top 10.
Qualifying for the Monaco Cocktails 125 is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. CT, with the green flag scheduled to fly at approximately 4:35 p.m. FansChoice.TV will have live coverage of the event.
