It‘s been a minute since the K&N Pro Series East has been in action, but the drivers will be back at it again this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the Apple Barrel 125.
With this being the penultimate race of the 2019 season and Sam Mayer‘s championship points lead being almost insurmountable at 30, a championship crowning is possible.
APPLE BARREL 125 AT NEW HAMPSHIRE
WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
Coming off his recent victory at Worldwide Technology Raceway, Spencer Davis‘ confidence has never been higher. For Rette Jones Racing, their first win came at a great time, too, coming off a dominant Bristol performance which ended in heartbreak. Earlier this season at NHMS, Davis finished seventh.
The aforementioned Mayer came home as the runner-up in July at New Hampshire, and is looking to do one better this weekend for his fourth win of the season. This past weekend, Mayer competed in the ARCA Menard‘s Series event at Salem Speedway, finishing fifth.
Winning that race was Ty Gibbs, who‘ll be behind the wheel for DGR-Crosley alongside Tanner Gray. Gibbs will be making his first K&N East start at NHMS, while Gray finished fifth in the summer.
Rev Racing will have a third car out of their stable this weekend in the form of Nick Sanchez, who will be making his third career start. He‘ll have Chase Cabre (second in points) and Ruben Garcia Jr. as teammates.
JR Motorsports’ Josh Berry will be making his debut for Visconti Motorsports in what is expected to be the first of many starts behind the wheel for the next couple seasons. His No. 74 team are defending winners of this event with Brandon McReynolds.

After a fourth-place run at the track earlier this season, Max McLaughlin will return looking for his second career victory for Hattori Racing Enterprises. Max’s dad, Mike, won four times in East action at NHMS as well as winning the inaugural Whelen Modified Tour race in 1990 and scoring a NASCAR Xfinity Series win in 1997.

CREW CHIEF HANDOUT: The starting field for the Apple Barrel 125 is limited to 28 starters, including provisional positions. The first 24 drivers will secure starting positions based on qualifying for the Apple Barrel 125. The remaining four spots will be awarded through the provisional process.
The number of groups for qualifying will be determined by NASCAR. Each group qualifying session will be five (5) minutes in duration and the fastest single lap speed of each vehicle will determine starting positions 1st through 24th. Adjustments or repairs may not be made on a vehicle after the vehicle enters the track to begin the qualifying session. Vehicles may not return to the track or make any further qualifying laps unless directed to do so by a NASCAR Official or in the event of a caution. Once a vehicle‘s qualifying attempt is complete the vehicle must proceed directly to the designated impound area once it enters pit road. In the event of a caution, all vehicles must exit the track. Vehicles that elect to continue must proceed directly to the re-entry area of pit road and stop to the outside of pit road. No adjustments or repairs may be made to any vehicle on pit road or in the re-entry area during a caution except the removal of tape on the grille opening only, once removed the reinstallation of tape will not be permitted.
Vehicles will be impounded after qualifying. Vehicles must qualify on race set up. Only minor adjustments will be permitted following qualifying (i.e. air pressure checked, tape removed). NASCAR Officials must oversee and authorize any and all work being done during this time period.
The Apple Barrel 125Â will be 125 laps (132.25 miles) and is to be run in three (3) segments with a five (5) minute break at or near the conclusion of Laps 40 and 80.
