  • The Herr’s Potato Chips 200 is the 19th of 20 races for the ARCA Menards Series in 2019. The race will also serve as the championship-deciding event for the Sioux Chief Short Track Challenge, a series-within-the-series held exclusively on tracks one mile in length and under.
  • The Herr’s Potato Chips 200 is the 13th ARCA Menards Series race at Lucas Oil Raceway dating back to 1971. Bob Schacht is the only driver to win more than one. Other winners include, Ramo Stott, Ralph Latham, Bruce Gould, Marvin Smith, Davey Allison, Ty Dillon, Brandon Jones, Frank Kimmel, Travis Braden, Chase Briscoe, Dalton Sargeant and defending race winner Christian Eckes.
  • Lucas Oil Raceway is also the home of the famed U.S. Nationals for the National Hot Rod Association Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. Run every Labor Day weekend, the event attracts hundreds of drag racers and tens of thousands of fans. In 2018, part-time ARCA Menards Series driver Tanner Gray, who is not entered in the Herr’s Potato Chips 200, was final eliminator in the Pro Stock class.
  • The first of two ARCA Menards Series races at Lucas Oil Raceway in 1985 was a combination event with what was then known as the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series, now known as the NASCAR XFINITY Series. The lighter Busch Series cars were dominant, sweeping the top 15 positions. Davey Allison, who finished 16th, was credited with the ARCA win. Jimmy Hensley was the race winner. Ten ARCA teams tried to make the 30-car starting field. Others who made the main event were Bob Dotter, Bosco Lowe, Bill Venturini, David Simko, and Lee Raymond. Drivers who failed to qualify through a 25-lap last chance race were Scott Stovall, Walt Bohland, Bob Brevak, Don Marmor, and Bobby Jacks.
  • The winner of the Indianapolis 500 traditionally drinks ice-cold milk in victory lane. The winner of the Herr’s Potato Chips 200 will be showered with potato chips.
  • Indianapolis has been home to numerous racing venues over the years, including Indianapolis Motor Speedway, two versions of 16th Street Speedway, and the multiple venues at Indianapolis Raceway Park, now known as Lucas Oil Raceway. The LOR property includes the 0.686-mile oval track, a drag strip, and a 2.5-mile road course that can be configured in multiple ways.
  • Many notable people have resided in Brownsburg, including Aldo and John Andretti, Pancho Carter, Bobby East, Tony Pedregon. Additionally, the town has a lending library. Pretty fancy.
