Hailie Deegan Has Successful 2019 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West and ARCA Menards Series Season

After a successful 2018 season that saw her become the first female driver to win a NASCAR touring series race since the 1980s, Hailie Deegan started 2019 with even higher expectations. With two NASCAR K&N Pro Series West wins, a third place in the final series standings, and six ARCA Menards Series appearances now on her resume, it’s a safe assumption to say she achieved her goal.

As a rookie in 2018, Deegan finished fifth in the West standings and her win at Meridian – with a last lap bump-and-run to boot – made her the first female to win a NASCAR touring series race since Shawna Robinson won a NASCAR Dash Series race at Myrtle Beach in 1989.

Another last lap bump-and-run victory, this time at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, gave Deegan a great start to 2019. She followed with another win, her second of the season and third of her career, at Colorado National. And, to no one’s surprise, for the third time in her career, she won with a last lap bump-and run.

Unapologetic for her aggressive style, she made her ARCA Menards Series debut at Toledo in May. She qualified twelfth, but was taken out in an early-race crash and ended up at the tail of the 18-car field. She rebounded well, with a seventh-place finish at Pocono, her first attempt on a superspeedway.

An oil leak ended her night early at Madison, leaving her twelfth at the finish. She closed the season with three consecutive top-ten finishes, an eighth at Elko, her first top-five finish, a fifth, at Lucas Oil Raceway, and then another eighth at Kansas.

Deegan ended her season third in the K&N Pro Series West standings with eight top-five finishes and eleven top-ten finishes in 14 starts. She had an average start of 5.1 and an average finish of 6.1. In six ARCA Menards Series starts, Deegan earned one top-five finish and four top-ten finishes, with an average start of 9.0 and an average finish of 9.7.

ARCA’s 67th season will come to a close when Christian Eckes will officially be crowned the 36th ARCA Menards Series champion on Saturday, December 14 at the Championship Banquet held at the Indiana State Convention Center, held annually in conjunction with the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show. Tickets to the black tie gala, which are also available to the general public, are on sale now.
