If you have followed the ARCA Menards Series for any period of time, you know the name Venturini. The most dominant organization in the series for the past two years, family patriarch and team owner Bill Venturini is a two-time series champion and one of the most recognized – and well-liked – persons in the ARCA garage area.
The 67-year-old Venturini has dealt with some health issues over the last six months, but he had some good news to share on that front.
Venturini posted to his Facebook page:
Back in June I was diagnosed with rectal cancer, stage 3. It was also in my lymph nodes. After 6 months of Chemo and the 30 straight days of radiation, then 8 more weeks anticipating what’s going to. Today was the day to remove tumor and see how we have done. Dr. Dobson (Dr. McDreamy) as the nurses call him is the best. He tried a relatively new approach to this. Chemo, radiation, then surgery.
The good NEWS, I’m still alive,Cancer is gone, tumor surgery when better than expected.
As soon as we all can get back to The thing that we love,RACING, I am planning on being there.
Venturini is back at home, although he confessed that it is “(m)uch harder emotionally than I ever expected,” he said he can’t wait to get back to the race track.

Anyone who follows Venturini on social media knows his family gathers around the pool they’ve built in the backyard, and with warm temperatures in the Charlotte area the pool has already been open.
Dang home quarantine prison. Cathy had to spend the day in the pool. Water was 90 degrees. I only went in for about an hour. 🤷♂️ pic.twitter.com/JmyXmt579y

“Cathy is the pool freak,” he laughed. “We love having the family over and spending time with the grandkids. I bought a trike back in October and we’ve been on it a few times. We went to Mayberry USA and we went for a little cruise to Albemarle. Cathy has cleaned the house three times. I have cleaned the house and the pool, which took me three days. We cleaned the house garage and went through all of the cabinets and cleaned the inside of the cars.
“Everything we have is now spotless.”
While the racing has stopped for now, many of the teams were still hard at work on their race cars for when we all eventually get to go back racing. But for now, Venturini and his family have decided to close up shop to ensure their team members stay healthy.
Home quarantine has it’s benefits. I haven’t made pizza in a long time. pic.twitter.com/SrYOQE4CNV

“The shop has been busy,” he said “The city of Concord has issued a curfew starting at 5 pm so we have decided to shut the shop down for three weeks. We talked to all of our employees and reassured them they would be paid for that three-week period and they would have a job to come back to. We’ll wait to see what the government says for us to do and judge it from there.”
