Giovanni Bromante Focused On Return To Racing

Giovanni Bromante is ready to trade the lawn mower and green grass for a race car and asphalt.

The 16-year-old from Locust Valley on Long Island, New York, has used the time away from racing to help out at Bromante Landscaping.

“I get all the materials for the guys,” said Bromante in a Zoom.com conference call with media this week, about working for his father’s company. “We do landscape and design all over Long Island. And I’ve been his right hand man. Whatever I can do to help him.”

Saturday, he’ll go from planting trees and lifting heavy stuff to focusing on steering the No. 74 Bromante Landscape/The Reichert Group Chevrolet to Victory Lane in the Herr’s Potato Chips 200 Presented by Federated Car Care at Ohio’s Toledo Speedway. Fans can watch the race live and for free through Trackpass on NBC Gold.

When he’s not “planting trees and lifting heavy stuff,” Bromante has managed to get some track time in a race car. He finished second to Ty Majeski in his Super Late Model on May 24 in the Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway in Montgomery. Bromante won the Rattler 250 in 2019.

Bromante brought home a fifth-place finish for Visconti Motorsports on Feb. 10 at Florida’s New Smyrna Speedway in the series’ opener.

While Bromante has not been to Toledo in the ARCA Menards Series, he compared it to two tracks he really likes: Montgomery (South Alabama) and Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida.

“I really love those tracks,” Bromante said. “It’s a heavier car. At Toledo, it’s just fast. You have to get going. I’m excited to get going.”

“I’m prepared. I’ve put my heart into it.”
