PRACTICE: Riley Herbst Tops Board at Talladega

TALLADEGA, Ala. — Riley Herbst posted the fastest practice time in the 30-minute ARCA Menards Series session Saturday morning in advance of the afternoon’s General Tire 200 at Talladega.

Herbst had a lap of 53.219 seconds around the 2.66-mile oval in his No. 18 Monster/Terrible Herbst/ORCA Toyota.

Alabama native Bret Holmes, who grew up less than a half hour from Talladega, was second fastest at 53.282. Championship points leader Michael Self was third quick at 53.326.

Ryan Repko and Drew Dollar were fourth and fifth fastest, respectively. They’ll start on the front row after the lineup was set per the rulebook. The General Tire 200 is the first race back since March for the ARCA Menards Series, and there will be no qualifying session.

Hailie Deegan was sixth in practice, followed by Brandon Lynn, Gus Dean, Scott Melton and Eric Caudell.
