PENSACOLA, Fla. — Grant Enfinger won the 2015 ARCA Menards Series championship, but Sunday will be his first race in the ARCA Menards Series East. And the 35-year-old from nearby Fairhope, Alabama, will start Sunday’s Pensacola 200 Presented by Inspectra Thermal Solutions from the pole at 5 Flags Speewday.
Enfinger won the General Tire Pole Award in his No. 77 Champion Power Equipment / Breland Homes Ford with lap of 17.461 seconds/103.087 mph during Sunday afternoon’s 40-minute session on the banked half-mile.
The NASCAR Gander Outdoors & RV Truck Series playoff driver is racing at his home track on the Truck Series’ off weekend.
The Pensacola 200 Presented by Inspectra Thermal Solutions, the sixth and final race of the 2020 ARCA Menards Series East season, was postponed from Saturday to Sunday due to the effects of Hurricane Delta.
Sam Mayer, who only needs to start the race to clinch his second consecutive East championship, posted a lap time of 17.528 (102.693) and will roll off third behind second-place qualifier Taylor Gray (17.502/102.845).
Ty Gibbs and Chase Cabre rounded out the top five.
Corey Heim qualified sixth, followed by Mason Diaz, Derek Griffith, Daniel Dye and Nick Sanchez.
The Pensacola 200 Presented by Inspectra Thermal Solutions is scheduled to begin Sunday at 3 p.m. CT (4 p.m. ET) and broadcast live on TrackPass on NBC Gold.
