A rare fourth-generation driver, Thad Moffitt is the latest racer to be part of the rich legacy of the Petty family. The grandson of NASCAR’s all-time winningest driver Richard Petty, Moffitt made his ARCA Menards Series debut in 2017 and has been a familiar semi-regular fixture in the garage ever since.
Carrying on a family tradition by running the No. 46, the next in line after the No. 45 run by his late cousin Adam Petty, 2020 was Moffitt’s most successful season to date.
The 20-year-old from Trinity, North Carolina, is looking to build on that success in 2021 driving for David Gilliland Racing.
Moffitt is the latest subject of our "10 Questions" series in which drivers answer a group of personality-revealing questions.
