Ty Gibbs Adds 14 NASCAR Xfinity Series Races To 2021 Schedule

Ty Gibbs, the 18-year-old who is competing for the ARCA Menards Series championship in 2021 after leading the series in wins and laps led last season, is adding a handful of NASCAR Xfinity Series races to his plate for the year.

Joe Gibbs Racing announced the schedule update Tuesday, a few days after the Charlotte, North Carolina, native won at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course in his first Xfinity Series start driving the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Supra.

Gibbs, the grandson of NASCAR Hall of Famer and Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Gibbs, still plans to run the full 2021 ARCA Menards Series schedule as he also competes in the Xfinity Series.

It was previously announced that Gibbs would compete for Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in the Xfinity Series.

“Winning this past weekend in Daytona was really a dream come true for me,” Gibbs said in a statement. “I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel again. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I have great teams behind me in both ARCA and Xfinity, and I’m so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with all of them.

“I’m just really excited for the rest of the year.”

Gibbs is now slated to run 14 more Xfinity Series races in 2021. Below are the events, courtesy of JGR, not including the Daytona road course race.
