QUALIFYING: Ty Gibbs Wins Another General Tire Pole At Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio — Ty Gibbs led every lap in each of the last two ARCA Menards races he ran over the last month, and the 18-year-old will have a chance to go flag to flag again at Toledo Speedway on Saturday night.

Driving the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, Gibbs was the only driver to log a sub-16 second lap time in Saturday’s qualifying session ahead of the Herr’s Potato Chips 200. He earned his fourth consecutive General Tire Pole Award in the series with a lap time of 15.979 seconds (112.648 mph).

Gibbs also started on the pole in the ARCA Menards Series races at Phoenix Raceway, Talladega Superspeedway and Kansas Speedway this year, winning at Phoenix and Kansas. Drew Dollar (Daytona) is the only other driver who has started up front in an ARCA Menards Series race this season.

Gibbs led every lap at Kansas before accomplishing the same feat last weekend in the ARCA Menards Series East race at Dover International Speedway.

Corey Heim, who had the fastest lap in Saturday afternoon’s practice session, qualified second (16.086 seconds / 111.899). The ARCA Menards Series points leader and the third-place Gibbs are tied with two wins apiece through four races entering Saturday night’s event at Toledo.

Jesse Love, the reigning ARCA Menards Series West champion who will make his first start for Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Menards Series at Toledo on Saturday night, qualified third (16.173 seconds / 111.297 mph).

Nick Sanchez (16.179 seconds / 111.255 mph) and Thad Moffitt (16.209 seconds / 111.049) qualified fourth and fifth, respectively.
