QUALIFYING: Corey Heim earns General Tire Pole Award at Winchester

WINCHESTER, Ind. — After losing the ARCA Menards Series championship points lead to Ty Gibbs last week, Corey Heim is trying to keep his rival in his sights through the second half of the season.

The bonus point he’ll earn for winning the General Tire Pole Award on Saturday at Winchester Speedway will help.

Driving the No. 20 Craftsman Toyota for Venturini Motorsports, Heim recorded the best lap (15.796 seconds/113.953 mph) in single-car qualifying at the high-banked half mile, marking his second career pole award in the ARCA Menards Series.

Gibbs qualified second to join Heim on the front row to start Saturday night’s Calypso Lemonade 200.

Nick Sanchez, Daniel Dye and Taylor Gray rounded out the top five in qualifying.

Saturday night’s Calypso Lemonade 200 at Winchester, which also marks Round 6 of the 2021 Sioux Chief Showdown, is scheduled to take the green flag shortly after 8 p.m. ET.

The race will broadcast live on MAVTV Motorsports Network with a live stream available on NBC Sports Gold’s TrackPass.
