PIT BOX: ARCA Menards Series West returns for Round 2 at Portland International Raceway

For the second time this season, the ARCA Menards Series West heads to Portland International Raceway’s 12-turn, 1.967-mile road course for the running of the ARCA Portland 112.

The race serves as the eighth event of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series West season and is also the third and final road course event of the season for series competitors. The event is being held in conjunction with the NTT IndyCar Series as part of the Grand Prix of Portland.

Jake Drew enters the race as the West Series championship leader as well as the most recent race winner at Portland following his victory at the track earlier this year in an event that was shortened by rain. Taylor Gray triumphed in the tour’s inaugural visit to the track during the 2021 season.

Tickets to Saturday’s ARCA Portland 112 at Portland International Raceway are available. Below is everything to know about the event.

With four races left in the West Series season, Drew appears headed for his maiden series championship. He’ll look to build on his 44-point advantage in the West Series standings this weekend when the series returns to Portland.

Drew scored his first West Series triumph earlier this year at 12-turn road course in a rain-soaked affair. He’ll look to sweep the season at Portland this Saturday afternoon while also padding his championship lead.

Several drivers will be looking to stop Drew from doing that, including Bill McAnally Racing’s Cole Moore, who continues his hunt for his first West Series victory. Todd Souza, who finished third earlier this year at Portland, is also expected to be a contender Saturday afternoon.

Tanner Reif, Drew’s teammate at Sunrise Ford Racing, sits second in the West Series standings. He won the 1,000th race in ARCA Menards Series West history at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington, on Aug. 20 and will look for his third series win of the year Saturday.

Davey Magras, a former crew member and veteran Sports Car Club of America competitor, will make his West Series debut with his own equipment Saturday. Also entered at Portland are Bridget Burgess, Landen Lewis and Joey Iest, among others.
