The 2022 ARCA Menards Series was one for the record books, with Nick Sanchez ultimately claiming his maiden series championship aboard the No. 2 Chevrolet for Rev Racing.

With the season now in the rearview, it’s time to take a look back at some of the telling statistics from the 2022 ARCA Menards Series season.

  • 0.156 – margin of victory, in seconds, for Corey Heim over his Venturini Motorsports teammate Parker Chase in the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway.
  • 2 – first time winners in 2022: Taylor Gray and Sammy Smith.
  • 2.84 – average number of leaders per race in 2022.
  • 3 – drivers with three wins in 2022: Brandon Jones, Nick Sanchez, and Taylor Gray: Jones won at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Iowa Speedway, and Watkins Glen International, Sanchez’s wins came at Talladega Superspeedway, Kansas Speedway, and Michigan International Speedway and Gray scored wins at Phoenix Raceway, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and Pocono Raceway.
  • 4 – times a driver led more than 190 laps in 2022. Only Sammy Smith, who led all 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway, would win. Daniel Dye led 192 at Berlin Raceway and finished seventh, Dye led 233 at Elko Speedway and finished fifth, and Jesse Love led 193 at Toledo Speedway and finished second.

  • 6 – wins for Sammy Smith: Berlin Raceway, Elko Speedway, The Milwaukee Mile, Bristol Motor Speedway, Salem Speedway, and Toledo Speedway. Smith led the series in wins in 2022.
  • 8 – drivers who won at least one ARCA Menards Series race in 2022.
  • 9 – cautions at Phoenix Raceway, most of any race in 2022.
  • 10 – career wins for Chandler Smith, who won at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park to become the 37th driver in series history to reach double-digit wins.
  • 11 – lead changes at Michigan International Speedway, most of any race in 2022.
  • 14 – points between champion Nick Sanchez and runner-up Daniel Dye. That margin represents less than one position per race over the course of the 20-race season.
  • 20 – starting position by Ryan Unzicker at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, the deepest in the starting lineup of any winner in 2022.
  • 73 – laps led by Jesse Love at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, a race shorted by 27 laps due to time constraints.
  • 81 – total lead changes in 20 races, up from 64 in 2021.

  • 200 – laps led by Sammy Smith at Bristol.
  • 350 – with Sammy Smith’s win at Berlin Raceway, the number of drivers who have won at least one ARCA Menards Series race.
  • 405 – career starts for Brad Smith, who made his 400th series start at The Milwaukee Mile in August.
