Ed Pompa will begin his 18th season in the ARCA Menards Series in 2023 when he runs the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway on Feb 18.
And he is continuing his fundraising effort for the Double H Ranch in Lake Luzerne, New York.
“I race for the thrill and the fun of competing,” Pompa said. “Since I’m only a part-time racer and full-time business owner, I’m not looking for someone to sponsor me personally behind the wheel. I race as much as my wallet will allow.
“This ‘sponsorship’ program that we started back in 2009 is raising money for kids to attend the Double H Ranch. Double H is a camp for children with serious medical conditions. It gives them a chance for a week to forget about their medical issues and focus on being a kid.”
Details on the Double H Ranch can be found at www.doublehranch.org. For 2023, Double H has given Pompa an online fundraising page.
“There are several donation levels, with 100 percent of the money donated going to the Double H Ranch [and tax deductible, too],” Pompa said. “Nothing goes to me or the race car. I’ve been blessed in my life, and this is a small way for me to help give back to a cause I really support. Since 2009, this program has raised more than $200,000 for Double H.
“[Fast Track Racing team owner] Andy Hillenburg has been gracious enough to even put the Double H Ranch logo on the team hauler and website. A new sponsorship level for 2023 is on the hood of the ARCA car. For $200, your name or company name will go on the hood of the car, placed around the Double H Ranch logo.
“These names will be on the car for the entire 2023 race season, not just one race. I will just keep adding names as they come in during the race season. So, the sooner you make the donation, the more races it will be on the car.
“For Daytona, I would need the donations to be made by Feb. 10 to get decals made.”
