NASCAR Whelen Euro Series driver Gil Linster will make his ARCA Menards Series debut in the ARCA Daytona 200 at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, Feb. 17 aboard the No. 68 Ford Mustang fielded by Kimmel Racing.
Linster on Jan. 12-13 took part in the annual ARCA Menards Series pre-race practice at Daytona driving for Kimmel Racing. That’s where and when he earned his superspeedway license, which opened the door for him to compete at Daytona in the 2024 season-opener.
“A partner confirmed being on board for the ARCA race,” Linster said, via the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. “We will officially be part of the ARCA Menards Series Daytona 200.
“I’m really happy about this, but I have no time to celebrate, because there’s a lot of work coming in the next few weeks. We have to develop the design of the car, my racing suit and the helmet. We will sign the contacts, and then I will pack my bag and travel to Daytona. The company is also interested in being my partner at selected Euro NASCAR races.”
The 30-year-old from Frisange, Luxembourg captured his first EuroNASCAR 2 victory in 2023 driving for Hendriks Motorsports. He finished the season ranked third in the EuroNASCAR 2 standings in the team’s No. 50 Toyota Camry.
In addition to racing at Daytona next month, Linster plans to continue competing in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in 2024, with an announcement expected in the near future.
