PIT BOX: Home game awaits as ARCA Menards Series heads to Charlotte Motor Speedway

For the 26th time in series history, the ARCA Menards Series takes to Charlotte Motor Speedway this Friday evening for the running of the General Tire 150 (6 p.m. ET on FS1).

The ARCA Menards Series made its debut at Charlotte in 1964, when Curtis Turner came out of retirement to win a 200-mile event at the facility located in Concord, North Carolina. More than 30 years later, the series returned to Charlotte in 1996. Tim Steele led a race-high 53 laps on his way to victory at the 1.5-mile speedway. It was the first of three straight ARCA victories at Charlotte for Steele.

In the years that followed, many familiar faces earned trips to Victory Lane at the track, including Frank Kimmel, Adam Petty, Kirk Shelmerdine, Ryan Newman, Kerry Earnhardt, Brandon Jones, Ty Majeksi, Ty Gibbs and, most recently, Jesse Love.

Tickets to the General Tire 150 can be purchased here. Below is everything to know about the sixth race of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series season.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR:

Charlotte

After conquering the field in the most recent ARCA Menards Series event at Kansas Speedway, Connor Mosack will be on the hunt for his second straight victory with the series when the green flag waves at Charlotte Motor Speedway this Friday night.

He’ll once again be behind the wheel of the No. 28 Chevrolet for the Pinnacle Racing Group, which has won three of the last four ARCA platform events dating back to April 26, when Connor Zilisch won the ARCA Menards Series/East Series combination event at Dover Motor Speedway.

Joining Mosack out of the Pinnacle Racing Group stable will be Carson Kvapil, who will make his second series start this season in the No. 82 Chevrolet.

Tanner Gray, who fell agonizingly short of victory at Kansas Speedway earlier this month, will look for redemption aboard the No. 18 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. Rev Racing will have a trio of entries, with regular drivers Lavar Scott and Andres Perez joined by Sebastian Arias in the No. 9 Chevrolet.

Venturini Motorsports will bring five cars to Charlotte Motor Speedway, with Daytona winner Gus Dean, Toni Breidinger, Kris Wright, Amber Balcaen and Dean Thompson all looking to deliver the team its third victory in six races so far in 2024.

Bryan Dauzat’s Brother-in-Law Motorsports team will also be in the field with two entries. The No. 57 will be driven by Hunter Deshautelle, and the No. 75 will be driven by local driver and two-time Hickory Motor Speedway track champion Austin McDaniel, who will be making his series debut.

The complete entry list for the General Tire 150 can be found here.
