PIT BOX: Greg Biffle and West Series regulars prepare for Tri-City Raceway return

For the first time since 2003 and for just the 10th time in history, the ARCA Menards Series West will visit Tri-City Raceway in West Richland, Washington on Saturday night for the running of the NAPA Auto Care 150 (7:30 p.m. PT / 10:30 p.m. ET on FloRacing).

The West Series first visited Tri-City in 1968, when Ray Elder drove his 1967 Dodge to victory. The West Series visited Tri-City infrequently in the years that followed, with competitors like Jim Cook, Jack McCoy, Roy Smith, Dirk Stephens, Mike Chase and Jason Jefferson securing victories at the half-mile tri-oval.

More than 20 years have passed since the West Series last visited Tri-City during the 2003 season. That changes Saturday evening.

Tickets to Saturday’s NAPA Auto Care 150 are available here. Below is everything you need to know about the eighth race of the 2024 West Series season.

Greg Biffle credits a lot of his success during his lengthy NASCAR career to his formative years racing in the Pacific Northwest, specifically at Tri-City Raceway.

It’s appropriate, then, that Biffle is among the drivers entered in Saturday’s NAPA Auto Care 150. It marks the first time Biffle, who won a track championship at Tri-City in 1995, will compete at the facility since a NASCAR Northwest Series event during the 1997 season.

Piloting a race-winning car out of the Sigma Performance Services stable, Biffle has to be considered among the favorites to win the 150-lap event.

Among those looking to deny Biffle a winning homecoming is West Series championship leader Tyler Reif, who went wire-to-wire for a victory in the most recent series event at Shasta Speedway last month. Also entered is Reif’s title rival, Sean Hingorani, who will once again wheel the No. 5 entry out of the Jerry Pitts Racing stable.

Other likely contenders include Trevor Huddleston, who will pilot his usual No. 50 Ford out of the High Point Racing stable, and Jack Wood, who will race the Bill McAnally Racing No. 16 Chevrolet.

Two competitors will make their West Series debuts Saturday. The first is Jess Havens, who will drive the No. 6 Toyota for team owner Brian Weis. The second is Kasey Kleyn, who will make his debut in the No. 88 for team owner Mike Naake.
