ARCA at Toledo: Notes and stats for the Owens Corning 200

It took all season to get here, but the finale of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series season is finally here. The Owens Corning 200 at Toledo Speedway is the 20th and final race of a busy season of ARCA competition that started in February at Daytona International Speedway.

Andres Perez needs only to start the Owens Corning 200 on Saturday afternoon to clinch his first ARCA Menards Series championship aboard the No. 2 Rev Racing Chevrolet. He’s still looking for his first win of the season and will chase it while also battling a strong field of contenders including his Rev Racing teammate Lavar Scott, William Sawalich, Lavar Scott, Gio Ruggiero, Brent Crews and Kris Wright, among others.

The Owens Corning 200 is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. ET. FS2, the Fox Sports App and FloRacing will provide live coverage of the 200-lap event.

Below are some storylines and stats ahead of the final race of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series season.

Owens Corning 200 at Toledo Speedway

• The Owens Corning 200 Presented by CGS Imaging is the 20th and final race of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series season. It will be the 84th ARCA Menards Series race at Toledo Speedway, the series’ home track.
• Andres Perez (No. 2 Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet) leads the ARCA Menards Series championship standings by 41 points over his Rev Racing teammate Lavar Scott (No. 6 Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet) headed into the finale. Perez will lock up the ARCA Menards Series championship by starting the Owens Corning 200. Once he takes the green flag he will become the series’ first foreign born champion.
• Perez has finished second three times in 2024 and twice on short tracks at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park and Salem Speedway. Should he not win at Toledo Speedway, he would become the series’ first winless champion since three-time ARCA Menards Series champion Bob Dotter won his first title in 1980.
• Scott has finished second two times so far in 2024, both on short tracks at Berlin Raceway and Elko Speedway. His runner-up finish at Elko, to William Sawalich (No. 18 Starkey / SoundGear Toyota) by just .011 seconds, was the second-closest finish in series history since the advent of electronic timing and scoring.
• By entering and competing at Toledo Speedway, Scott will become the series’ first Black driver to win the Bounty Rookie Challenge rookie of the year award.

• Sawalich is the defending winner of the Owens Corning 200. He will be looking to score his ninth win of 2024 and his Joe Gibbs Racing team’s 11th ARCA Menards Series win of 2024. The No. 18 team will lock up the ARCA Menards Series owner’s championship by starting the Owens Corning 200.
• Kris Wright (No. 15 FNB Corporation Toyota) comes to Toledo Speedway looking for his first ARCA Menards Series victory. By entering and competing, he will lock up third in the ARCA Menards Series standings.
• Toni Breidinger (No. 25 Sunoco Toyota) is fourth in the series’ standings headed into the finale at Toledo. Should she finish fourth – she has a two-point advantage on Christian Rose (No. 32 West Virginia Almost Heaven Ford) – she will become the highest finishing female driver in the final standings since Hailie Deegan finished third in 2020.
• Rose will visit with the University of Toledo Formula SAE engineering students on Friday prior to Saturday’s race. Rose can finish no worse than fifth in the ARCA Menards Series standings. Rose will be attempting to score his first top-five finish of the season on a short track; he finished a season-best fourth in the opener at Daytona International Speedway.
• Brent Crews (No. 55 JBL Toyota) will make his fourth ARCA Menards Series start of 2024 and his first since winning at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds. He also finished second at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Crews is a three-time winner in the CARS Tour in 2024.

• Gio Ruggiero (No. 20 First Auto Group Toyota) will be making his second appearance at Toledo Speedway in 2024. He finished second in the ASA STARS National Tour Glass City 200 just three weeks ago. Ruggiero has nine ARCA Menards Series starts in 2024 and has six top-five finishes, including a fifth-place finish at Kansas Speedway last weekend. His best 2024 finish is second at Phoenix Raceway in March.
• Willie Mullins (No. 11 Crow Wing Recycling Toyota) will make his second start of the season and first since winning the General Tire Pole Award for the opening race of the year at Daytona International Speedway in February.
• Mason Mitchell set the ARCA Menards Series track qualifying record at Toledo Speedway in 2014 at 15.682 seconds/114.781 miles per hour.
• Frank Kimmel, who won nine times at Toledo Speedway, holds the track race record, set in a 150-lap race in 1998 at 86.400 miles per hour.
• There will be two five-minute breaks for teams to change tires, add fuel, and make adjustments at or near lap 75 and 125.
• Should the race need to be extended into overtime, there will be unlimited attempts at a two-lap green/white/checkered finish. If the yellow flag is displayed after the white flag, there will be unlimited attempts at a one-lap green/white together followed by checkered finish.
