HARRISBURG, N.C. – After finishing sixth at Elko Speedway in 2024, E.J. Tamayo looks to build on his strong ARCA debut with an expanded 2025 schedule.
Following a successful stint in the Carolina Pro Late Model Series with seven top fives and 15 top 10s over the course of four part time seasons, Tamayo feels the time is right to make the jump to ARCA Menards Series East competition.
“To continue to improve and challenge myself, I believe that this is the right move at this time in my career,” Tamayo said.
The 18-year-old Tamayo will kick off his 2025 campaign at Five Flags Speedway, where he will be partnering with Fast Track Racing and their No. 01 team. The remaining races for Tamayo are scheduled to be at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, Flat Rock Speedway, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Iowa Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway.

“It’s always exciting to bring young kids into our program, and after watching EJ last year, I’m sure it will be a fun season,” said team owner Andy Hillenburg. “I look for a few great finishes with E.J. and hope to help him move up the racing ladder towards accomplishing his goals”
As part of his return to the ARCA Menards Series, Tamayo’s Late Model team co-owner and current ARCA Menards Series competitor Tony Cosentino will serve as Tamayo’s spotter and driver coach for the six-race slate. Ethan Hutchens will serve as his Crew Chief.
Joining Tamayo on his move to national competition will be his previous sponsor, Amici Engineering Contractors. With additional support from Halley Engineering Contractors, Tamayo Sports Florida and The Isern Tamayo Family Foundation, Tamayo looks to bring his A-Game to the track and give his Sponsors plenty to cheer for in 2025!
“After a great result at Elko last year, I feel that we can carry that momentum into the new season and have solid results,” said Tamayo. “I am excited to be racing with Fast Track at Five Flags. I want to thank my sponsors for their continued support and my team for their commitment to me and to our program.”
“As evidenced by E.J.’s great result at Elko, we’ve worked to provide him the right opportunities at the right time to show what he is capable of,” said Enrique Tamayo. “We are very excited for this next step with Fast Track at Five Flags. We appreciate the continued support of our sponsors and will continue to represent them in the best way, on and off the track.”
