PIT BOX: ARCA Menards Series heads Midwest for first trip to Kansas Speedway in 2025

After a competitive outing at Talladega Superspeedway, the ARCA Menards Series is back in action this week and set to tackle its first intermediate track of the 2025 season with a trip to Kansas Speedway on Friday (8 p.m. ET on FS1).

Kansas has long been a staple on the ARCA Menards Series schedule; it has hosted at least one race a year for the platform since opening in 2001. Of the 19 venues the national series is set to visit this year, Kansas is the only track with two dates on the schedule.

One factor behind Kansas’ popularity among drivers is the competitive nature of the facility, particularly the progressive banking in the corners. Multiple grooves of racing at Kansas leave plenty of options for competitors to gain valuable track position on both short and long runs.

With Talladega having shaken up the ARCA Menards Series standings, the title contenders are looking to build momentum at Kansas this weekend. The driver who prevails Friday evening will join an elite group of previous Kansas winners that includes Frank Kimmel, Alex Bowman, Chase Briscoe, Ty Gibbs, Corey Heim and more.

Tickets to the Tide 150 at Kansas Speedway can be purchased here. Below is everything to know ahead of the fourth race of the 2025 ARCA Menards Series season.

The top four in the ARCA Menards Series standings are separated by just 11 points after the first four events.

Leading the way is Lavar Scott, who heads to Kansas in search of his first ARCA Menards Series checkered flag. Kansas presents a great opportunity for Scott to reach that milestone, as his team in Rev Racing has visited Victory Lane at the track twice with 2022 series champion Nick Sanchez.

Trailing Scott by three points in the standings is Lawless Alan, fresh off his maiden ARCA Menards Series triumph at Talladega Superspeedway. Alan leads the Venturini Motorsports armada into Kansas this weekend as he looks to deliver the team’s first victory at the facility since Jesse Love’s win in 2023.

Brenden “Butterbean” Queen, who won the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway in February, remains within reach of Scott’s points lead despite a bad race at Talladega. Queen is determined to shake off the frustration and join Connor Mosack as a Kansas winner in a Pinnacle Racing Group Chevrolet.

Everyone in the field likely will be chasing the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota piloted by reigning ARCA Menards Series East champion William Sawalich. The team won the most recent Kansas event with Tanner Gray in September and is seeking to guide Sawalich to his first victory on an intermediate track.

Two Kansas ARCA Menards Series winners are in the field for the Tide 150 in Spencer Gallager and Mason Mitchell. Gallagher is back in the No. 23 for Sigma Performance Services, the same car number with which he prevailed at Kansas in 2014. Mitchell will pilot the No. 25 Pro-Seed USA Toyota for Venturini.

Other notable names on the preliminary entry list include Isabella Robusto, Andy Jankowiak, Thad Moffitt, Amber Balcaen, Patrick Staropoli and Miguel Gomes, among others.

The complete entry list for the Tide 150 will be released later this week.
